Bug Bombing Dangers to BPs?
I live in a basement duplex and my neighbors upstairs think they NEED to bug bomb their place.
My boyfriend and I have birds, reptiles, bugs, and dogs.
Im assuming bug bombing is as dangerous to reptiles as it is to birds?
I found some information on their website but I wanted to get a few opinions.
Is it necessary for us to move all aniamls out of the house if the bombing is going on upstairs? Our vents are all conected and i think the toxins would reach our place. We dont want to take any chances with the animals and were going through a herp mite epidemic right now which sucks bad.
Were planning on moving the snakes to his parents house in pillowcases. I think the snakes would do fine secured in pillow cases for a day or so? The other herps and birds will have to be moved in their cages.
I have a bearded dragon though and his cage is huge and not easily movable.
This is just a big cluster:cens0r: and i needed to vent to someone. Because its a totally worthless thing to do because bugs will always find their way back in homes and im just stressed about it.

I would move them if it is possible. I am not sure if it would affect them or not, but I sure wouldn't want to risk it.

Exactly...
And since were going to move them out of the house then maybe it will be a nice time to do a whole cage clean out and treatment for their mites.

With bug bombing aren't you supposed to set them off and leave your place of residence? Now, if the manufacturer instructs humans to get away from the chemicals because of hazardous or fatal fumes, I would imagine your animals would not be safe.

As annoying as it is, don't run the risk. Pack everybody up and get them out for a while. I would give it a full week before you bring back your bugs. Everyone else should be ok after 24-36 hours.
Use your frustration to give you the energy to clean and treat cages, even though it is a PITA.
And yes it probably is a waste of time, but sometimes you just gotta deal with the morons of the world whether you want to or not.
I hope everything goes smoothly for you.
