    New Hatched Ball Python~~~

Hi master, as tittle, how long can they stand without taking any pinky since hatched. Is it fine/normal?
When only they start feeding? Thanks.

Actually I just get 2 Baby girl Ball Python. The seller claim that they already done their 1st shed. So, from wat we know, they will start taking their 1st meal after 3~4 day after sheding. Isn't it?

Yeah, but they can supposedly go a few weeks/months just from absorbing their yolk. You may have to try assist feeding after a few weeks if they're not going after the food themselves.

I said ASSIST feed. Force feeding is an absolutely last resort.

opps, sorry. Btw, thanks for ur advice.
So, they will stand for a month or more without taking any meal right. Im curious coz this is the 1st time Im handling with new hatch BP.

Will keep offer them pinky 1 times per 2 days to make sure they start to feeding. Is it OK? Or I need 1 times per 3~5 days. Thanks.

The most important part is how they are set up !
Make sure that husbandry (heat/humidity/hides) is 100% correct.
Keep them in a SMALL enclosure at first, make sure that enclosure is covered on the back and sides and top, to make them feel safe. Add a small hide (just big enough to squeeze in) for them, so they can feel even safer.
If they are set up correctly, try feeding after they had at least a week to settle in, without any handling or stress.
If they don't go for it, wait 3 or 4 days, try again. Try late evening/night.

    Good luck

And yes, they can go a long time without food, assist (or worse, force) feeding should be absolutely the last resort, when it is between that or the snake dying of starvation.

btw, do you mean pinky mice ?? If so, FAR to small of a meal for a Ball Python hatchling. They should be able to start on a hopper mouse (the movement of it should entice it, too) or a rat fuzzy.

Most even take small mice or rat pups right of the bat !

+1 to everything Zina said. I actually had one I finally assisted but that was after he refused to eat for a long time and his weight got down to 48 grams. You could see his backbone and the rest of him was sucked in. He looked horrible. I really felt he was gonna die and AS A LAST RESORT assisted.
