San Francisco considers banning the sale of all pets
Sorry if this was posted, but figured it was news worthy enough to post here.
Here is a small quote from the article:
Yes, goldfish. And guppies, gobies, gouramies, glowlight tetras, German blue rams. No fish, no fowl, no reptiles, no amphibians, no cats, no dogs, no gerbils, no rats. If it flies, crawls, runs, swims or slithers, you would not be able to buy it in the city named for the patron saint of animals.

San Francisco is the hotbed for HSUS and PEta. They used to be pet friendly, but it seems the public believes whatever garbage the AR extremists tell them, and pass laws because they see a picture of a kitty or puppy plastered on it.
They marketed THIS one as "all pet stores are neglecting and abusing the pets, and no one should make a profit from some poor helpless animal" while saying that only shelters should supply pets.
Apparently no one realizes that they're also outlawing almost all breeding, becuase everyone who breeds anything is either a "puppy mill" or a "backyard breeder" only interested in money. This of course will lead to no pets being kept, unless you have a decent amount of free income to go out of the city to find a pet, until they also succeed in outlawing KEEPING pets too.
It's the wave of the future. Enjoy your pets while you can.

They're even wanting to ban the sale of feeder rodents. The comment that rodents are left in with the snakes for "days at a time", pissed me off.

It wouldn't go though in the major agricultural states. The horse/cattle would throw a hissy fit.

They wouldn't be covered under any pet laws, HSUS is going after those under livestock rules and USDA regulations.

Still, there would be a huge uproar over it. I know of quite a few horse people that won't bat an eye if you insult them. Insult their horse, and you'll find yourself on the ground with a black eye.
