Oh I can't wait for my little guys to get that blue! I had never seen a versi sling until now and I really want to see the blue color first hand. I'm going to hold back quite a few and grow those out before I sell them.

Maybe you should start with a tiny little guy like these to get you over your fear! They don't reach their full adult size until they are about 5 to 6 years old, this will give you time to get comfortable with your spider before it's a big hairy tarantula, lol!

    Eggs with legs! Congrats!

Did the male survive his encounter with the female when they bred?

Thank you and yes he did! He went in, did his thing and was quickly scooped back up. She was more interested in getting in on than getting a good meal.

Congratulations. They are tiny. What do you keep them in to keep them secure and ventilated? Hope they all grow up to be big and strong. How early can you sex them and what do you hope you get (male vs female)?

    Thank you!

Right now they are being kept on 2 tupperware containers (snap sides type), top of lid cut off, panty hose stretched over it, filled half way with water, and those are in a larger plastic container with holes in the lid. Don't know if you can picture that but if you look at the pictures posted you'll get a better idea. They are able to be kept together until 2nd instar, when the time comes I will be seperating them into individual viles to keep them from eating eachother.

I'd have to say you have to wait until the spider reaches atleast 2 inches before you are able to sex them... Easiest way to do that is to use one of their molts. They have 2 sets of book lungs and right between the first set there is a little flap (forgot what it's called) in females and if it's male the area is smooth. I will be selling them as slings for 15 dollars each but will be holding onto a few to grow them out. Females are more sought out for than males because of the breeding and their life spans. Males only live for a few years and once they reach sexual maturity they die just a few months later.
