Might get a new female BP, should I ??
Not sure whether to go for it or not.
I actually wanted my collection "closed" and not add anymore snakes for now. However, I know these people have had this female BP for 4 years now. She hasn't been exposed to other snakes, and eats well. Never been sick. Been cared for nicely. Used to handling.
Most important (to me) is that she has indeed not been around any other snakes and has been healthy all the while.
Thing is, I don't "need" another female. She is a normal and a nice size to her. They haven't fed her heavily, but appropriately. She is not a rescue.
What to do ?
Might go have a look at her later and decide then I'm very picky with my collection, LOL.

Get her so that Jag or Phoenix can get some action next season!

I'm asking the same question because we have Repticon coming to Columbia this weekend and I know I am going to fall in love with something there. Problem is i don't have the income and my wife would choke me with the snake when I brought it home...hahaha
P.S. this is my first convention and I'm really excited about it.

As big as those 2 are they might be up for it now, haha. Although they aren't quite a year old yet.

Why are these people getting rid of her? Do they just not want her anymore or are they going to keep her if you don't take her? If you don't take her and they still want to place her, will they be as picky as you would be with a new home?
From a breeding/collection standpoint, I can understand why you might not 'need' another female - and a normal at that. But from a snakelover's point of view, I know I would want to help this snake out. Seems a shame for her to have been so well cared for for the last 4 years and then not go somewhere where she'll be equally well taken care of. Just a thought....

They are not going to keep her, but they are also not in a big hurry to place her. They do prefer a "good" home, but you know how that goes, there are never guarantees.
I would like to make sure she doesn't end up in a bad place. Normally, I stay away from "rescues" because I'm paranoid to bring possible diseases/problems near my collection. However, this female is healthy and hasn't been passed around or been around other snakes. So that wouldn't be a problem.
So while she doesn't need to be rescued, who knows where she may end up.
Well, I guess I'll go have a look ! LOL

Re: Might get a new female BP, should I ??
In my OP, if she is healthy why not pick her up? I personally like having some normal females in the collection. Especially the ones with cool patterns, colors that may pass on to the offspring when bred to morphs. That's just me though

I agree. You never know when you might find you need a normal to prove something out. And since you know her background, you really don't have anything to loose. Have you seen her yet?
