    Possibly in shed?

OK, so yesterday, I got my first ball python and while, there has been a ball python in our house before (he was my brother's hatchling, who unfortunately didn't eat more than once while with us, and possibly had a URI, and passed four months later) I never really paid attention to him when he was near shed... So now, I'm completely unsure if my boy ( 2yr old Het pied )is in shed or not. His belly looks a bit discolored, and the corner of his eye appears to be going blue.. but it's hard to tell. He does appear dull.He was definatly brighter at Petland (our local one is actually VERY good, helpful workers, healthy pets, -they no longer sell pups or kittens, but have the shelters bring dogs in or something- and if a pet is unhealthy -like the special needs Beardie who they had to hand feed until he started gaining-) I haven't been able to hold Loki since I got him home though but it's tempting to, he's too darn cute... Also, if anyone dosen't mind telling me how to attach pictures ^_^ it'd be very much appriciated and I'm sure helpful to seeing if my naughty boy is in shed or not..( he kept me up all night, knocking one hide, and his thermometer over/off ) I probably set him up for it though.. naming him Loki after the Norse god who's known for mischif (Sp?)

your images dont show for me. If he had 2 adult mice on 6/1 it's probably too early for another feeding. What are your temps, humidity levels, what is the weight of the snake, is it male or female?

    Meh -.-

And I know it's too early for him to eat again, wasn't even gonna try too until next friday, possibly later depending on how he's adjusting.

His humidity is at 50-60 and his temps, well, I'm not sure... the thermometor isn't working so I have to go buy a new one tomorrow. But, when it was workin, it was 90 in his hot spot, and I completely forgot to buy the second therm. Again, buying another tomorrow, well, two... good ones he can't knock off...

Unsure of weight because I haven't held him yet at home, aside from moving him into his terrarium. I'll try getting his weight tomorrow... I asked the petstore, silly me forgot to write it down...But, based on how he was moving around, he's around 36 inches, (his home is 36''x12.5'', only temporary for a year at most.)

    Re: Possibly in shed?

Sounds like he is going into shed. Here is a thread on the whole shed cycle:

    http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...edding-Process

To post photos, first, you will need to upload your photos to your Gallery on this website or to a photo hosting website like Photobucket, Flickr, etc...

-Open up the Reply window to the thread you want to post them in.

-Open a separate internet browser window and go to the site where your photos are posted.

-Usually below the photo, you will find some URL links or codes. Look for the one that begins with [IMG] or sometimes it may be listed as "BB Code". Highlight and copy this entire code then paste it in your "Reply" window.

-Click on the "Preview Post" button to see if the photo becomes visible. If it does click "Submit Reply". If not, then double check that you copied the right code or the entire code. The end of the code should be [/IMG]...

Here is a link to a video tutorial also. Hope this helps...

Thank you soo much! And I've read the shed cycle, but I wasn't sure if he just had a different belly color than others or not

I'll try and get a belly shot of him tomorrow when I weigh him, (if his eyes aren't blue that is...)

Ok, so for some reason my pics aren't coming up at all >< but, I have two pics up in my Gallery of him, and the one where his eyes appear white/blueish, they aren't, I forgot to turn off the flash... Kicked myself for that 'un

Just weighed him today, though not with a scale in grams... the scale said he was 2lbs, so converted to grams, he's about 900grams... Not 100% accurate, I'll have to get a scale for grams too it seems... But I can use it for me and my bf's slow grow Bearded Dragon...Now off to see how big my boy should be...
