Standard size and dwarf rats come in both top ears and dumbo ears.
I just have dumbo eared rats so all I make is dumbos.

I make dwarfs by breeding a dwarf male to normal sized females and holding back the female offspring and breeding dwarf to full sized females that carry the dwarf gene.
This way I get half litters of dwarf and half litter of standard size.

Gotcha. I noticed that my Standard size dumbo female was a bit shorter than my other normal (top eared) females so I was a little confused as to whether the dumbo may also be referred to as a dwarf. Thanks for clearing that up. I may have to look into a Dwarf male or two in the future to add them to the collection. Would come in handy for picky eaters and hatchling BPs.

    Can you ship rats ?

My daughter and I are about to go crazy over how cute they are! She has dumbos and Siamese now, and we'd love to add a few dwarfs.

No one near us has any. I know because I've been looking ever since I saw the first ones here about 2 years ago.

Baby anything is hard to resist, and dwarf baby anything is just cuteness overload!

Yes, you have to go through the same thing you do when shipping dogs, vet check and all.
    I've been told it's around $200

Dwarfs are pretty difficult to find anywhere and the further East you go the harder they are to find, or so I've been told.
I'm the only one locally that has them with any regularity except for a rattery or two.

I agree, the dwarf babies when they first open their eyes are especially adorable
