Help!!!
okay so, my male bp hasn't been eating for me in about 2 months now...really frustrating cuz i always end up throwing out the rat he wont eat every week. i am getting worried because he has lost some weight as well, my female just started eating regularly again after a month and a half. his temps in his tub are all correct, 85 hot spot and about 77 to 78 on the cool side, i give him fresh water every other day and mist the tub about every 3 to 4 days as needed. i dont know whats wrong with him, all my other snakes eat like pigs, he is the only one who isnt eating out of all 6 of my snakes... if anyone has any tips they would be greatly appreciated. im also going to try live prey, but all the pet store has is mice...they never have rats when i need them *rolls eyes* only pet store in my town is petco and i hate going there...please help me out here =/

Well your temps are a little low, hotspot should be 90-92, and cool side 80. Whenever I have one that doesn't eat I always try a smaller size prey and usually they take it. How much weight has he lost?

okay, ill raise his temps a tad, here is a pic comparison for how much he has lost...
pic taken march 6th 2011

pic taken today may 18th 2011

he is about a half inch slimmer than he was, i just fixed his temps, the hot spot is at 90 now. and i also checked inside his mouth for any mucus or any abnormalities, its nice and pink like it should be.

Luckily he looks like he's still a healthy weigh, even with the loss. You can try a smaller size prey, maybe an adult mouse or rat pup instead? Mice have a stronger scent and might work. If not you can always try live, get him eating consistently, then try switching back.
