The smokes and liqueur isn't exactly great, but if condoms are considered bad, would you or they prefer to get some poor girl your age, in school, no job, not an ADULT yet pregnant?

    Just saying.
The last time my mom threatened to do this, I threatened to hit back with a pocket knife and call the cops.

Spanks are okay, but slapping and hitting and using a belt just isn't. This kid might need some sense knocked into him, but possible jail time and fines for animal cruelty would be a better option, not deep bruises or busted fingers (defending) or busted face from a belt or physical punishment.

AND THIS IS the problem with parents and kids now. No discipline at all and then the people that over do it and the ones that dont think its right call the cops If people raised their children like they did 30 years ago we might not have all these problems. I am a FIRM believer that if you children lack self control in public, the parent should be the one to suffer for lack of TRAINING on their part. And yes, I am the guy that will jump on you in public and embarrass YOU because of your child

The best way to re earn your parents trust is not to deceive them more. Don't you care if your parents trust you or not? This is a bad idea all around.

There are probably issues you haven't even thought of yet. Like guilt. You will have to lie and hide this from your parents from now until you move out. It may seem like a small lie but in reality it will probably effect you more than a small lie. You will always have to be diligent to hide your lizard. After a while, keeping up a lie will really drain you.

When you do move out, what happens then? What if you go off to school and you can't keep a 55 gallon aquarium in your dorm? What if your parents find out and as a punishment make you get rid of your python and your beardie?

If you aren't trolling and you really have accepted the lizard my advice is to find a good home for it as soon as possible. Someone that doesn't have to hide it in a closet like contraband. After that I suggest you get your priorities straight. Having a good relationship with your folks is a lot more important than getting a free lizard.

I really don't understand today...... I don't believe in child abuse in any way. I don't believe in a father hitting a son or a mother slapping her daughter . I work as a paramedic as well as Scott and I've went on the calls of child abuse and have takin kids that are vegetables due to shakin baby syndrome.I took a 16 month old baby with multiple fractures ( new and old fractures). Kids with burns from hot water, welts from cords....I have seen things I wish I could forget. I can handle the blood and gore of this job, but kids........
But I don't believe in the whole you can't discipline your kid because it's child abuse. When I was a kid if I smarted off to my mother I got the belt. If I cussed in front of her i got the belt . You see the parents that have kids that don't listen , do what ever they want ect, and their excuse is they don't use discipline because it's child abuse. I'm only 23 but any one older than me i can pretty much say it's safe to assume that they were raised the same as me. I had chores to do, I raised sheep for 4-H and I did all the farm work and it was to be done before I got to go out with friends. If it didnt get done well I didn't go. In no way was I abused! If that's considered abuse than wow!!!!! Not saying your wrong at all. I agree no kid should ever be hit, or punched. That is abuse but spanking your kid is not. Not in my eyes any way. The belt thing... Not sure my view on it. I look back and think its wasnt that bad but not sure if id use it on my children. Every one has their own views and that's cool.
I'm not at all downing your parenting so please don't think that was my point in this post. I was just putting in my 2 cents. Lol

    Re: Rage

I think our point to the OP has been made as well as it can be made...especially to someone who is so unlikely to actually listen or care what they are reading anyhow.

I think it's time to close this one down before it turns into a "let's jump on the guy just because we can" or before it spirals down the rabbit trail of parenting styles.

MAYbe he'll read it. Maybe something will sink in. And if he ever wishes to respond to this thread, he need only shoot me a PM and I will re-open it for him.
