    That's definitely a bite.

How big is Cleo ? I'd love to know so I have a reference point for my own snakes. So far the biggest I've had get me was only around 600 grams. The pair I have sitting at 2900+ worry me a little bit.

Re: So I think I need a couple of snake hooks......

    Heh,

Normal bites aren't really that much of a biggie even from a big BP.

It's the feeding bites that hurt a bit more as they hang on like blazes and, if they can, wrap round and use their body to crush the teeth in further.

Bizzarely the snake that worries me most during feeding is the little dinker female ( about 1200g ) as her tub is level with my head and she tends to come out and hang over the edge of the tub. That's a bit too close to my ear when I am heating the rat and I have had to duck a few times.

As she is well strong enough to do real damage to my delicate shell likes if not remove them entirely I tend to utter prayers such as "don't you dare" and "oh no you don't".

I LOVE that the title on the newspaper is "I don't want to be your friend".

    OOOooo My that bloody mess....
Interesting that both times i got tag... that always was female
If You really need hook.. get good quality collapsible... You can use it for your BP's and extended for herping in the wild... I believe You have common European adder in England... and Aesculapian Snake could be "defensive" as well...

I bought mine from Reptile Basics and I'm pretty happy with it
