@mommanessy247: That scared me at first also, because on. Both occasions, my spider seems to bite the rat in the mouth area, I guess it may have punctured the gums of the rat or something. Here is another view of it indicating that the rats mouth is close.

the only time i've ever seen blood during one of my girl's feedings was when she had nabbed the rat on its face and her teeth punctured one of the rat's eyes but even then there wasnt more then a drop of blood and that was only just smeared on the rat's fur.
i'm not trying to scare anyone or cause any kind of upset, i'm just saying...
