same as the rest make sure it is 100% cyprus. The stuff that is around here is also stained too, to give it a uniform colour if it says unsafe for vegetables I not touch it. Personally I use a coco coir product as it is a lot cheaper where I am, and environmentally responsible.

It is double processed so the pieces are smaller and 100% cypress. im going to switch from shredded aspen to this as soon as i can find it local. i'll most likely pre treat it with PAM just to be safe.
I don't know why everybody swears by what ever Brian Barcheyk (spelling?) does. I ordered a big lot of bp's from him last year and every single one of them were infested with mites. When I spoke to him about it he blamed it on his bedding....

I don't think anyone is swearing by what Brian says nor do I think that him having a mite outbreak makes what he says any less credible. Brian has said on his show that he has had mite outbreaks. Thats to be expected when you have a setup like his. The point was not that the product he recommended was mite free. The point was that its 100% cypress. These are two different issues. You as a keeper can handle both issues separately.
