Another vote for Challenger.. Of course I've always been partial to them since one of the rarest ones has been my dream car since I was 15 lol.

Inside the line did a shootout with all 3 and the challenger was the slowest in a straight line and around the track. I think its a great looking car, but for about 7 grand less you can get a camaro or mustang that outperforms it.

Which trim packages did they test. Was the Challenger an SE, an SE Rallye, an R/T, or the SRT8,

What about the Ford, was the GT500 or something less?

As for the Camaro, I'd bet they tested the SS?

I'd like to see tests like this, but many times one manufacturer will get a leg up because they sent a better trimmed car.

Also, I've heard the old engineers at these companies will tweek their car to make it run much better than one off the showroom floor.

If anyone has any links regarding side by side or any other testing, please post them here.

Talked to the wife last night and I told her I'd sell the 74 Nova if I got the new muscle car. Don't really need the 74 if I get one of these.

I got mommy's permission to get one or the other. After all, she's been getting a car every 2 years for some time now. But I can't complain, I'm driving around in a 2009 Scion TC.

    Thanks to all!

    Re: What do ya think?

I have a friend that works at Chrysler that says that the Chrysler Corp is unable to market their products as police cars because the transmissions often have problems at sustained high speed during chases.
For that reason only I would choose one of the other two choices. I prefer the looks of the Challenger and would enjoy playing with a Hemi.

I hear what you're saying but we have a ton of Chargers being used as police cars in and around Baltimore, Maryland.

It was an SRT-8, the SS and the mustang was the standard GT, if i knew how to make links i would post here for you.... Google search Challenger vs Camaro vs Mustang and about 100 links will pop up showing these tests.

    Re: What do ya think?

I don't know much about cars, but my boyfriend absolutely LOVED the way the camaro SS drove, he complained that although the challenger was a little more impressive in stats, it wasn't as nice a drive as the camaro. he's also partial to mustangs but i think he'd agree more with whoever mentioned something about the super snake.

but if you want a pretty girl's opinion, I'm not a fan of newer muscle cars but i think the new camaro is a SEXY ride . I was sad when the boyfriend opted for a diesel ram rather than the camaro.
