I can't believe this thread got as out of control as it did. Everyone here would be up in arms if they had proof that it was neglect instead of just assuming they took in an animal to rescue it and just didn't have the conditions right immediately. How about some constructive criticism instead of chewing people out? I agree the ASPCA may have been a little much, but really with the assumptions and degrading remarks? I thought this forum was better than this....

Re: Why would a pet store be selling an ADULT BP?(MN if you want to rescue it)

In my opinion, before you get authorities involved and anger the store, you should try to educate them. Talk to a manager. It's true that the majority of pet stores mistreated their BPs and SHOULD know better, but sometimes they're just naive to how important the care for these snakes are. Often if you simply educate them and maybe keep an eye on the situation they will change how they are caring for them. A kind approach may be more beneficial. But if it turns out they really just dont care then yes, get the proper authorities involved.

    Good luck!

Probably the spin-off http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...or-care-of-BPs that brought some attention back to this thread.
