That dog ended up out-living my mom, and when my dad remarried my step mom got really close to her as well. It was really nice. At that point in time the dog was about 15, Patience, our toy poodle. She ended up dieing of old age in my step moms arms. We were going to take her to be put to sleep the next day because we didn't want her to suffer anymore. She was old, and blind and deaf and was just not having a good quality of life anymore. She let us know when it was time to go, and animals almost always will; especially cats and dogs.

I still have her collar and tags, I was pretty close to that dog and I still think about and miss her. My parents current dogs are getting pretty old and I'm starting to worry about them.. but I suppose thats an issue for another day.

Always remember all the good times you had with Max. Keep a favorite toy of his or his collar to remind you of him.

    I'm sorry for your loss.
What a wonderful dog she must've been, I'm so sorry to hear about her and your mother. Dogs are the best pets period on the planet, and the fact that they actually care about us is incredible.

We do in fact have his collar, as well as my mom's Doberman's collar she used to have 15 years ago. Thank you very much.

Our other dog is 7 years old and he's very attached to me, he pretty much stays with me all day long when I'm home. Now I realize that time goes by so fast so I'm trying to bond with him even more because he also is an amazing dog.

I have to watch this other dog he used to live with for 2 years (it was my sister's dog but now a family friend whose out of town until tomorrow has her) so I'm taking my dog with me to go play with her and spend time with her so he doesn't feel lonely while I'm gone. I'll have to take some photos them and post them later .
