    woohoo!! She finally ate

After almost six months of refusing to eat - she will only take mice. She has always preferred smaller prey but was eating rats. She stopped eating in September but last week I offered her a ft mouse and she ate it. This week I offered two ft mice and she pounded them - I can't tell you how happy I am that she is eating again!!!

If she wants mice then that is what she will get. I just want her to eat.

Congrats! My male normal would not eat for 20 days, not that long, I know. It took me to resort to offering live mice to get him to eat again. It is always a great feeling when they eat!

Good to hear, I know the feeling! My big girl hasn't ate since November.
She was eating/devouring huge rats (she's very close to 6') before.
I think I'm gonna give it a go this weekend, just to see. If not the others will have an extra one for the belly.

Very cool. I know that you were worried about her not eating. It must be a huge relief for you, and who know after a few more good feeding she may even take a rat for you again.....

Yeah after six months I was losing hope. They truly have a mind of their own and will eat when they are ready. Nothing has changed in her tub in all this time. She just prefers mice

Is it ok if she just lives on mice?? She is 1700 grams but I don't do any breeding so I don't need her to be any certain weight.

It is perfectly fine if she just eats mice. You will just have to feed multiple mice is all. Been there, done that.

As long as she isn't losing weight she will be fine. You may need to increase the number of mice, but that's the worse that would happen. Better eating mice than nothing at all...

    Re: woohoo!! She finally ate

Since this was her first meal in quite a few months - I offered fairly small ft mice but I will buy some bigger ones at the next Taylor show so I can offer her an appropriately sized prey.

I am the happiest person around - all because my girl decided to eat again. Amazing how this animals can consume your whole day!!!!

She is my very first snake and just a very special gal. She is just a normal but priceless in my eyes.

Don't know where your located but I can let you know of a place that has any size readily available for you if interested.
Yep they do consume my whole day. My poor woman doesn't even get all the attention my animals get.
And I think she's even jealous of my first snake, which is also a normal female royal
