    Incubator Question?

I'm just getting my incubator ready to build. I have a Coleman cooler I was going to use with flexwat and a Johnson thermo. My questions are does there have to be a window cut in to the top for any specific reason? Do I need to use a wired up computer fan for only one clutch? Also with the lid being closed down is there a problem with lack of air. Thanks

Question #1 People put windows only as a visual aid so they do not have to open the lid as often.
Question #2 If its just one clutch on a single shelf, I would say no you do not need a fan. Fans are necessary when you have a incubator with more than one shelf. Then you need to circulate the air as the top shelf will be warmer than the bottom one.
Question #3 No, but as you get closer to the hatch date, you will want to open the tub for a second and give the clutch fresh air.

Tip: Keep some filled water bottles on the bottom as these will help bring the temp up when you do open the incubator door.

    hope this helps,

    Dave
