    In most states you can. Different species require different level licenses. You can keep carpets on a level 1 license. It costs $60 for 2 years. Greens and rough scaled pythons require a level 2 license which you can apply for after 2 years on a level 1 license.

    Any reptiles from overseas, ie; exotic, are illegal. It really blows!!

    What's the reasoning behind different "levels" of licenses? Is it just keeping people away from less common species until they have a proven track record with more common species?

    Thats pretty much it.. Keep something easy then move up!

    I really glad the laws aren't that strict here...yet.

    Those are really some beautiful animals and i can't wait to see some updated pictures of them fully grown.

    Nice snakes. I have been seeing those more commonly in the trade. Still pretty rare but they are deffiantly becoming more distributed. I have already noticed prices dropping a little as they become more available.
