Yes, he is definitely Colombian. I am just not sure if he is pastel or not. I'm sure he will be happy in his 55 gallon. Boas are not normally shy like ball pythons, and do well in larger cages. Make sure the lid is very secure, because they get really strong as they age. Be sure to post up some pics of his new cage once you get it all set up.

Rainbow boas are pretty neat looking. However, I have heard they are more of a challenge to care for than boas or ball pythons. I suggest doing a little research on their care before buying one.

Thank you for all of the information and your help with my questions! I have done lots of research on Rainbows and do know they require high humidity and lower temps, good thing is that I haven't gotten the snake so I can still think about it some more or even change my mind. Have any idea what species of snake I can house comfortably in a 40ish gallon tank with sliding screen top (for its whole life)? I also thought Dumerils but those get on the larger side... The tank is 3 feet long by 1 and a half wide by 1 and a half feet tall.
