I have a 55 gallon tank that I am emptying out SO now i'm going to put Castro into the 55, heavily decorate to provide lots of hiding places, and get another snake for the other tank i'll have left over. I wanted a Rainbow boa and they sell them at a good price at LLL (it's about 40 minutes from me). Anyway, is Castro indeed a Columbian?
Yes, he is definitely Colombian. I am just not sure if he is pastel or not. I'm sure he will be happy in his 55 gallon. Boas are not normally shy like ball pythons, and do well in larger cages. Make sure the lid is very secure, because they get really strong as they age. Be sure to post up some pics of his new cage once you get it all set up.
Rainbow boas are pretty neat looking. However, I have heard they are more of a challenge to care for than boas or ball pythons. I suggest doing a little research on their care before buying one.
Good luck on whatever you decide.

Re: Morph?
My uncle had a rainbow boa and it was SO aggressive... He had about a 50 50 shot that he'd get bitten more than once while cleaning its cage, and you could almost guarantee it would tag him once... Idk if all rainbow boa's are that way but its something to keep in mind. It seems like they can be really aggressive.
As for your boa.. I'd say nice normal, but I'm pretty sure its not a pastel.

Cool, I got him for free so it's not like I paid for something I "wanted" or "expected", don't know how to explain I mean I wanted a Red Tail and I got one and again, I think he amazing. He's beautiful either way. Thank you.
I posted a thread asking about Rainbow Boas and I think it's just like any other snake, some are more aggressive than others. I think your uncle just got one of those on the nippy end.

Have any idea what species of snake I can house comfortably in a 40ish gallon tank with sliding screen top (for its whole life)? I also thought Dumerils but those get on the larger side... The tank is 3 feet long by 1 and a half wide by 1 and a half feet tall.
You're welcome. I'm just glad to help. Sure, there are many dwarf boas out there that would be comfortable in the size you are talking about. I'm a boa guy, so it makes sense that I would suggest a boa. There are also many other species that would be comfortable in a 40 gallon. Check out this site for some info on dwarf boas: http://cuttingedgeherp.com/boaconstrictorimperator/. Let me know if you have any questions.
