    Why Animal Planet Sucks.

I thought this was a decent read about the horrible new direction AP has gone in and some of the possible reasoning behind it.

Very good read, thank you for the link.

He's got a great point about how far they've strayed from their fundamentals as a network about animals. "Animal Planet is, in fact, not about animals."- Really??? I guess Marjorie Kaplan thinks its all about shock value and preying on peoples ignorance to make them afraid of animals.

I think it's also said to see how the History channel is doing the same thing with the reality shows. As long as they keep rolling Modern Marvels though, I'll still be happy. (I never thought I would want to know how hot sauce or Salami is made, and yet I'm still completely enthralled watching)

And, why we get aritcles like this: http://www.salon.com/entertainment/t...net_rebranding

Not a widely published sort, but will hopefully make it around facebook pretty quick. Glad there are still people on our side.

Really?! That is the same thing I said. Its a walking contradiction like "Living dead" or "Timmy the Albino lifeguard"

I do love me some Modern marvels though

Did you read the article I linked? Its the same one.

What I think is the saddest part about this whole thing is they are isolating the people who helped build that network. How could you turn your back on people who helped AP become what it is today?

No, lol. I didn't even see the link. Trying a new color on the forum, and the links are almost identical to the type. My bad.

I totally agree. We really need Steve to be reincarnated and come back to fight with us.

Right?! At this point the History Channel should be renamed Blue Collar Reality TV. The final straw for me was this new show "Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy."
