Pre- Ovulation Shed
So I have heard this term used a few times. I did some research and didn't really get a for sure answer on if it exist or is really any kinda of timer in the frme of breeding. From what I found some people just count the shed before they have their ovulation as the Pre-Ovulation shed.
What is your take on this term and the significance if any.

Yes, pre ovy shed does exist! They will shed then ovy within a week or two. About 16 days after ovy they have a prelay shed then they lay about 27 days after that!

Re: Pre- Ovulation Shed
Most of my females never have a pre-ovulation shed. Or if they do, it's more like 2-6 weeks before ovulation, not 2-3 weeks.
However, it does exist, sometimes females will shed, ovulate, then shed again.
Mine seem to just ovulate then have pre-lay shed though.

My first female to ovulate this year had a preovy shed! I guess some do and some don't! I don't have alot of experience breeding but maybe someone that has bred for years will chime in!

yeah the reason I was confused was because I'd heard that a shed before ovulation wasn't anything to go by but my normal female had a pre ovulation shed this year
