Humidity?

What is the range for humidity I should get my balls enclosure at? And how can I raise the humidity? I saw online they sell waterfalls I can put in there, they look pretty sweet, but can they be used for balls? Are they any good? Do they raise the humidity?

Humidity should be between 40 and 60% for ball pythons, 80%+ when they are in shed. Twice daily misting and providing a large water dish are the best ways to keep humidity up. Some substrates such as coconut husk fiber will raise humidity, as well spanghum moss. If you have a glass tank with a screen top (those things lose humidity FAST), cut some plexiglass to cover 3/4 of the screen top.

Those waterfalls are meant for use with frogs and some small lizards; they aren't a good idea for snakes and tend to cause issues.

I'm a big fan of a "humidity hut".

Take a rubbermaid-type bowl with a secure lid. cut a whole big enough for Ball to fit through with some room in the lid. Hit the edges with a lighter to take the sharpness away. Soak some Sphagnum moss in a bucket of H2o. Ring the moss out pretty well and put it in the container with lid shut. This way when he/she needs the extra humidity for shed, they are usually bright enough to go hang in their little "sauna" for a bit to help with shed. I have found this the easiest/cleanest way to keep the humidity up for my BP. Never had any shed prob's.

Room temp is fine, but ideally around 85*F.

Or aluminum foil! Much faster and easier.
