    Re: Buying a BP

Well, How old are you? I've had Kenyan sand boa since I was 10 years old. Tell your parents how docile, low maintenance, lovely pets they make. Make sure to mention that they stay very small relative to other python species like burms or retics. Most parents/muggles hear "python" and think "30 foot goat-eating monster from the zoo." They only need an appropriately sized plastic tub, water bowl, hide, thermometer, thermostat, heating pad, and some newspaper for substrate. I just got a whole setup at NARBC (and walmart) including my 1700g female for $140. Compared to a dog, cat, or anything but a fish, ball pythons are very little work or hassle.
