But on another note.. Most of the the prices people talk about seeing are from sites like this, fauna and kingsnake where people ( not saying all ) are trying to sell there cheaper snakes they bought cheaper. none talks about the prices on sites and shows where they see a really good example of a morph at a higher price. I'd rather have the better example!
I'll be honest since I always support the profitability of this business... I can't tell you EXACTLY what we've done with the Bumblebee because there have been so many projects that have come off of it. I looked back and it seems that we were selling Bumblebees back in 2007 for an average price of $3000.00 each. By this figure we only need to sell about 8-10 of them to make the money back on the original male. I can't tell you how many I hatched that year but I'd guess it was somewhere between 15-20.

You win some you lose some... here is a brief list...

    Albino : 3500
    Piebald : 16000
    Pinstripe : 25000
    Spider : 18500
    Mojave : 10000
    Pewter : 25000
    Super Pastel : 13500
    Bumblebee : 25000
    Spotnose : 25000

    Ok... so that's $136,500.00 between 2001-2005

Now you can get that same group for $3600.00 in 2010 hatchlings.

Pretty scary?!? I still say NO since I am still running a successful operation today. The only loser was the Spotnose... the rest all produced great animals that sold well.

The figures that I wish I knew... Just how many customers bought some of this nice stuff from us and remained in the hobby to this day? How many of them made a business out of it?

In this business... patience isn't a virtue... its a DAMN NECESSITY!
