While you are checking for mites and the temps, also take a look at the hides and make sure they are snug for your snake. Sometimes they will hang out in the water bowl because they feel more secure there than in in the hides. If there is alot of extra space in them you can put paper balls or some extra substrate in them to fill up some of the space...
