Chin rubbing
My new snake is chin rubbing, the scales are turning red but its not an open wound or anything
Should I be concerned? Its just red for now :l
Any help is appreciated
EDIT:
Also, its not like its SUPER red. its just a tiny bit red, it looks extremely minor

Re: Chin rubbing
What is the snake rubbing it's chin on? If you can remove or cover the item it's rubbing against, that would be the best. Possibly rehome the snake in a different type of enclosure.
Good Luck!

Theres a little lip where the screen mesh top sits on the plastic on top of the aquarium.
The gap between the plastic and the mesh screen top is about an inch, maybe less.
He was sticking his head in it and pushing as hard as he could to try to get the lid off.
Ill watch him and make sure he doesnt do it again, I have a feeling it was a one time thing because he has only been with me for 3 days now. Im guessing that he was just curious
So we'll see what happens
Thanks!

It could be that he was stressed (that's what both my snakes do when I change something lol). Did you just feed him? It could have also been him trying to realign his jaw after feeding. And the pink ish belly sounds like he's going into shed
