It was luck. We like to introduce our boys normally a season earlier than we expect them to go, just for the exposure. We have found better luck and earlier lock ups in the years we do expect them to go by doing this. I will say we also closely monitor them and make sure they don't skip more than a meal or two. If they do start to skip meals they get pulled from breeding and moved to a separate room with no females around until they start eating again.Originally Posted by fredanthony
