Whats up everyone, seems I'm full of ?'s this week lol!

Anyways, I recently traded a bunch of hatchling's for a mojo male in hopes for some mojo babes. He is just over a year old, and weighs 600 grams. It seems like he has not one bit of interest in breeding, and I have never witnessed one lock since I put him in with my normal female. The female I'm pairing him with is definitely interested, because shes scenting and wagging like crazy. Is it possible he's too young, or do some males just not understand the breeding game? Hope I didn't get an un-breedable (just made that word up lol) male...

Sometimes when they get moved/shipped they don't do exactly do what we want them to do and sometimes it takes till the next season for them to do so.

They don't always breed when we want them to some male are late bloomers that take a little more time to figure things out

Also because you do not witness any lock does not mean it doesn't happen.

If you have another male than this one use his sperm plug and smear it on the female's back that you are pairing with the mojave.

Use the moist shed of another male and or female.

Put 2 females with him.

Also make sure to pay attention to the weather, low pressure, snow, rain, cold front are your friend.

You can try putting another male skin in to create competition with the scent of another male. Or put in another male snake in first to scent up the tank and later on only your prospect male to do the job. Normally jealousy makes them go crazy.

Or you can mist the tank when both of them are together, it tend to stimulate them with a higher humid environment, just don't overdose it. You don't want to face with RI or any illness.

Another way is instead of 3 days on and 3 days off, give them longer breaks for 5 days off 3 days on. Adequate rest tend to keep them going better. Oh ya, remember to feed them according to your routine to ensure their health are maintain and have the energy to mate.

All these methods are practice by me on my stubborn virgin spider. He refused at first but I guess he is just figuring out how to do it. After a few rest and putting together, he finally knows how to do it, and been locked for 3 times so far. Crossing fingers that he is not shooting blanks Patient and keep trying is crucial and never give up ! All the best

I've never actually seen a sperm plug...I think I'll just stick with the normal ways and just keep trying. I don't see how a moist shed will help any, how does that work?

Thanks for explaining!! I didn't really get why a moise shed would do anything...Wish I would have known that because they all just shed, but I don't have any of them...I'm just gonna keep trying and hopefully I will get a lock...I'm also thinking about putting my pastel male in with her because I know hes a proven breeder. Maybe I just have to wait till next year for mojo's...
