Don't get me wrong, I understand that a PayPal button would make it more convenient for many donators, but it just seems like if they *really* want donations, they find some way for people to donate, if they won't/can't do the PayPal.

Maybe now that it's been brought to their attention by some, they will institute a location button for just that.

A look at their website (last time I looked) showed just a general donation slot/button and several specific donation slots/buttons but nothing that would go directly to IBD research?

Anyone is free to contact the people in the email and bring up other suggestions. This is a community effort, which is why I shared it with BP-Net. The same information is on Fauna Classifieds. Perhaps if more people make their voices heard, they will realize we really do consider IBD important to US.
