Re: What kind of Corn is this?

Haha no problem!! It's always good to ask!!

Well, I know some people keep their corns on newspaper since it's cheaper and easier to clean, but I prefer aspen. It is true that most corns, especially when they're younger/smaller like the one you're getting, really love to burrow. I would definitely recommend aspen (any brand is fine) and use about an inch to an inch and a half of it on the bottom of the tank.

And yup, they like 2 similar cave hides just like ball pythons. Either the ones you can buy at a pet store, or what I use are opaque (dark colored) plastic bowls from the dollar store with an opening cut in the side. Just make sure the edges aren't too sharp.

I hope that helps and good luck with your new addition!! Corns are great snakes, I like them just as much as bps really!! You'll have to get some better pics when you get him/her home!!

It's actually a striped (or possibly motley - hard to be 100% from pics) snow. So $80 for a striped snow isn't so bad. But as others have said, VERY skinny.

If you do take the plunge, don't overreact to its skinniness and start powerfeeding it. I would just feed it normally once a week and it will gain weight back. For instance, after my females lay, I don't feed them any extra than they normally get, just one mouse once a week, and they all gain their weight back.

    Good luck.

I know powerfeeding isn't the answer, I just want it to be back at a healthy weight. Once I get him/her all settled I'll definitely take more pictures.
