    The reason it's better to feed rats than mice (when possible, of course) is because rats are actually a lot more nutritious than mice are. I'm not sure of the exact reason, but it's my understanding that rats will give a much more balanced diet and pretty much supply everything your BP needs. The guy who suggested feeding one rat instead is right on.

    UTH's won't heat up the inside through wood.....
    With lots of work as Dr Del mentions it can be put on the inside safely, but it's a hassle to do it safely.

    Tubs, tubs and more tubs for ball pythons

    Rats VS Mice

    Adult rats have on average 62% protein and 32 percent fat
    Adult mice have on average 55.8% protein and 24% fat.

    Not much difference.
    The difference comes when a rat eater takes down a 100 gram rat, the mouse eater will need 4 or 5 mice to keep up...

    he has 2 gaint mice a week ?
