Snake bite

Hi,

I have a Mexican Black King. Please advice on the following:

1) What precautions do I need to take when handling/feeding to avoid being bitten?

2) If bitten, what action should I take?

just use purell before handling make sure its completely dry and no fumes to get the smell of other things off and you should be fine dont do any fast movements and let them go were they want just gently redirect them. and told hold them grip wise just support themhope i helped you.

1. Just grab them, don't give them time to think about it. Also, always try to come in from behind them, if they see your hand swinging towards their face, they will probably tag you.

2. Wash the bite, and hold a paper towel on it if doesn't stop bleeding. He probably won't hang on unless it's a feeding response bite.

This is just my opinion, there are different strokes for different folks.

I also have one. he has never tried to bite or any one, ever. They are actually the better tempered of the king snakes. Just as long as you keep him well fed and dont smell like food yourself, you'll be fine

DO NOT SMELL LIKE MICE, RATS, OR SNAKES because you WILL get tagged. Just found this our myself. I have a great Florida King who has never bit, hissed and is overall a great guy. Held a cornsnake an hour before holding him. Didn't wash hands. BAM! He bit my finger, wrapped my hand and proceeded to work his way to the tip of my finger to eat it. It freakin hurt! Kings pack a punch in their bites let me tell you. Anyways let me repeat DO NOT SMELL LIKE MICE, RATS, OR SNAKES!!!!!
