I would say it's possible that it is a pastel but more likely it is a light normal. I purchased a normal about that color at a show and she eventually darkened up within a few months. My opinion would depend on the weight of the snake...and right now it looks pretty young to me.

So I was thinking some comparison photos might help...

My normal when I purchased her: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._5207478_n.jpg

My normal next to my pastel: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4693855_n.jpg

    My normal now: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._1830177_n.jpg

She's not that much larger yet but as you can see a lot of the orange faded.

    My pastel now: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._1599858_n.jpg

I have seen very dark pastels before.

No pastel at all, but a very beautiful normal I don't think I've ever seen a pastel that dark, not even a very low quality animal.
1.3 lovely normals 1.1 Piebald 0.1 red tail boa (Pandora) 1.0 sinaloan milk snake and one nasty corn snake! 2.3.1 Cresties 0.0.1 chahoua 0.0.1 leachianus
    1.1 Ferrets (Snoball & Panda)

Yes, me too. But light, dark, young or old...it doesn't show any pastel characteristics at all. There's just no "maybe" about it.
