Tegus are sweet, but don't plan on all of them being nice and friendlyMy sis picked up a red tegu and he's got an attitude like no other. They apparently need quite a bit of handling. Also remember that they get enormous! My friend has a black and white that has to be at least 3-4 feet long and very heavy. The reds can get to 20 pounds, so you have to be prepared for that and be able to house it! Care isn't very hard for either color though. They grow pretty fast too, since October he's already doubled in size, so if you don't have the room, a tegu isn't an option!
