Since your just starting out with the breeding I would stay clear of recessives for now and get a double co dom animal. A pewter, a bee, or a pastel lesser. Those are pretty cheap and would work very well with your super pastel. Just some examples. But I would def. Go with a double gene animal for your super pastel girl. Its all up to you what you want to make. So find something you "just got to have" and work with that

Also how old is your girl, if she is still young I wouldn't worry about getting a male this year and get another female. They take 3 years to get up to size and might as well raise another girl while your waiting for your sp to get up to size.

I have to agree....you have a super pastel! You need another co-dom in there to keep the flow going. A pewter would do awesome. You would have the chances of getting pewters, super pastels, pastels, cinnys. If you did a Bee, you would get super pastels, pastels, bees, spiders.

Since your not in it to make a buck, but looking for a cool project, thats what I'd go for. I have to say, it does get addicting though. I'm picking up my next bp this Thursday, a beautiful High Contrast Albino.

I would also stay away from mixing recessive genes with your super pastel since your not expecting to invest years into a huge project (at least 9 to get some really cool and interesting results). If you do consider getting into recessives, get a female het and a showing recessive male. That way it keeps the cost down.

    Good luck, its fun!

Correction... pewter x super pastel will get you pewters, pastels and super pastels. ( no cinnys ). and Bee x super pastel will get you pastels, bees and super pastels and killer bees. ( no spiders )

Orange Ghosts would not be a bad idea on the resesive side. since you have a super pastel and you get a visual ghost 100% of your clutch will be pastels 100% het for ghost. All visuals and no guess work on het's. Raise those babies up and you have a great shot at SPOG (Super pastel Orange ghosts)

No killer bee. Super pastel can only pass on one pastel gene. Bee is spider x pastel add another pastel gene and that's where killer comes in

    MALE: Super Pastel
    FEMALE: Spider

    50%: Pastel
    50%: Pastel, Spider

There is also a super list of morphs to look through. I think if you search the like of pastel all animals without pastel gene are removed only leaving pastel morphs which should help you decide

Spog is a bit longer but they are beautiful.

SPOG = Super Pastel Orange Ghost.. They are AMAZING with the right pastel gene!

And that girl of yours is a lesser too?? Super pastel lesser?? That changes things, there is SOOOO many fun things you can do with that combo!! Just don't pick a lesser, butter, mojave, phantom or het white dimand to be the male.. You'll end up with a white snake that won't show the other gene's.... lol would be a nice power house to bread with.. a super lesser pastel, even better a super pastel super lesser... Every snake you produce would be a lesser pastel plus what ever the other parent has.

Lesser addition does make things a lot more exciting for sure. Fire would be good. White snakes, fireflies. Oh dear I am getting excited for you lol.
