I find that two moms usually work out okay as long as their babies were born on the same day. As little as 2-3 days makes a HUGE difference in the size and strength of the pinks, and the older bigger ones definitely out compete the smaller younger ones for nipples.

More than two moms is when I usually start experiencing losses.

If you have the room its always best to separate them.

It depends on the strain the female is from. Some have small litters, some have big litters. Some start small and gradually get bigger litters (like my girl who had 6, then 8, then 19! XD).

I typically remove the nesting female and let her roam my bed for a few minutes while I count pinks either a day after I find them, or when I'm certain she's finished having them if I was able to watch. But I always remove the mother and rub my hands on the bedding RIGHT NEXT to the pinks, though it doesn't matter. It just saves me from having an firm but unharming bite from my girl.

For 35 snakes how many pairs of rats do you think I would need to be able to keep up with feeding all stages?
