Re: Special K Reptiles Tim Koppenhofer Bad Guy

    This is absolutely absurd!

I seen Tim every month at the Columbus show! Me and a few others sped pretty much the entire show chatting him up. I could not believe Tim would do anything like this and have a REAL hard time believing it!

Now i did not see you approach him at the Tinley show but i can guarantee you everything you have mentioned does not seem like Tim what so ever!

Thats just my 2 cents but i do not believe one word of it!

Re: Special K Reptiles Tim Koppenhofer Bad Guy

sexed it it was a male.
Right here there should have been no questions, no credits, no trades. Tim sold him a male as a female and would not refund the money he paid.

If what this guy is reporting is true then Tim Koppenhofer is someone I wouldn't do buisness with.

    Just my 2 cents.

Re: Special K Reptiles Tim Koppenhofer Bad Guy

I bought from Tim in the past. He and his wife seem to be very nice folks. I'd be surprised if things went down as described. However, I also would never expect a buyer to have to deal with MY mistake. If I were to sell a snake that was mis-sexed, I'd offer the money back if I didn't have the snake he wanted.

As long as I knew it was my snake the buyer was returning. Has this question been asked?

Re: Special K Reptiles Tim Koppenhofer Bad Guy

I personally have had to pay 800 dollars in vet bills to keep my 300 striped spyder morph BP alive that I bought from him. He refused to answer my emails past me asking him advice on what was going wrong with it saying it was normal behavior and would go away with time. This snakes kidneys were failing and it had fluid retention from an injury it had recieved before we purchased it. Luckily we have a very good exotic animal vet who could keep her alive, but she still almost a year later isnt 100%. A horrible company to do business with. Expect NO COSTUMER service past the sale. I reported his practice to the NARBC because that is where I bought it and they have a rule against selling sick animals.... didnt hear back from them either though....

I don't know how he does business with everyone who enjoys just talking during the shows, but alot of people who are buying arent just talking the entire time. I bought from him because he did seem so nice and genuine. This is my experience after buying from him though....thinking he was so nice and genuine.

I would have loved to be proven wrong about my current views on him though, but he hasn't stepped up to the plate.

A guarantee that is not in writing is not worth the paper it was never printed on.

Yeah tim is always really nice and accommodating at the show. Once he gets your money, all the bets are off. It's easy to scam someone into buying and animal then avoid them all together.

Tim is a snake Flipper, that's what he does. He buys and sell snakes all day long and most of them time he didn't even produce or own the snake he sells. I've bought from him also, but luckily it was just a normal female that was a proven breeder.

I'm not speaking for or against Tim...just wanted to address this point:

In THIS "industry" a guarantee's only value is in the integrity of the person offering it...written or not.

If a man (or woman) has integrity, then they will honor their word whether or not it is written down. But a written guarantee from a scumbag isn't worth the paper it IS printed on.

Sorry to hear about that. He should have given you a full refund, or another animal of the same value in return as soon as you contacted him. If you have not already posted this on the BOI, you should.

BG will address this first. To your average Vet(most don't know squat about snakes...maybe your does) the "symptoms" a Spider Ball python has will seem extreme, and could easily be misdiagnosed. Somehow I think the problem with your Spider has more to do with Spiders in general than an actual problem. This is the reason it can't be cured in one year. Are you sure it's "kidneys" are not failing from the Vet dosing it with meds?

Why did you buy it if it had some sort of injury before you laid down your money. BG isn't saying it didn't, but it's common for people to say this.

Now to the original OP. BG will talk to Tim the next time he sees him. Tim and his wife seem like good people to BG. BG will listen to his side of the story.
