It sounds like a iffy situation for the snake to live in, if you really care about Ivy than you should probably not leave her in that environment...
But I do have to disagree with some of the people saying snakes dont have emotions. I dont know about all of your snakes but mine talk to me all the time, they tell me to do terrible things... terrible things... They wont get out of my head! They constantly complain about the temperatures! It's either to warm or too cold! They harrass me incessantly about the humidity, it's too dry they say! And they drill into my brain with those hypnotically piercing eyes of theirs, I lose huge chunks of time and do not remember what happened, then I look down and realize that I just thawed out a half dozen frozen rats... My God! There can be only three possibilities, my snakes are somehow using their ESP to control and alter my thoughts, the CIA has secretly been experimenting on me using cutting edge mind control drugs, or im just totally out of my gourd...
ROFLMAO....
But in all seriousness, Ham makes a really good point. No offense to you or your boyfriend, but these are really valid points you need to consider.
From your signature, it appears as though you already have 2 ball pythons already. Where are they living???
