How long does scale rot take?

How long does a snake need to be exposed to a wet surface to start to develop scale rot?

Iv never had scale rot in my collection and it brought me to wondering last night when my girl tipped her water bowl and was just sitting in water lol.

Got me thinking how long would she actually have to sit in there to develop scale rot?

well im a bad husband and didn't know my sub. was too wet. it took 3 days till i took out my butter male and saw his beautiful white belly with nasty stuff.

luckily i switched his saubstrate to very dry eco-earth and one shed and its gone

just make sure the substrates dry and the humidity is high.
and a little neosporin without pain killer helps alot too.

hope yours dont get it, its really ugly and makes you feel like a bad owner,
but we all make mistakes. good luck.

Well im asking because i picked up this 1800 gram female and she had stuck shed and a deflated eye. So i kinda bumped the humidity up but she wants to lay in the water (no mites done checked)

Or shes just tipping it one of the 2. Iv changed her paper 3 times in the last 24 hrs lol. Tho last night i just left it a little damp figured she could use the 85+ pct humidity.

well if she's soking and no mites, than its a good thing.
she's getting that stuck shed off her self and trust me the humidity is safe alot higher than 85% for shed and eye cap reflation. dont worry if a little paper is damp. as long as its not her whole tub soaked she'll be fine. and if it is just her tipping her bowl, try a doggy water dish with the sides at an incline so she cant tip it.

    but she should be fine.

if shes laying in her water there is an issue with something. prolly her stuck shed. but do u have good hides? is it too hot for her?
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.

To hot? Not at all temps are perfect.

Hides? No. Shes in a rack. No hides. She seems perfectly fine without them its just she is trying to soak i think due to her being kept in low humidity.

I just picked her up yesterday at a show from some random person wanting to sell her.

As of now all her shed is off. Its just her eye that is left now.

My new big girl soaks her tub when she pees and she makes it well known she does not like laying in it. She'll push her water dish to the back and perch on top of it. At 2500g she is waaaay to big to be in it, so she's just kind of on top of it I'll have to get a pic soon.
