    Possible RI?

Hey I got a new boa and she looks good(maybe a little skinny but I am comparing to my BP lol) but I noticed a little crack type sound a couple times while she was breathing. It wasn't very often like twice while I held her for about 5 min. She also yawned while I held her. Aren't these signs of a RI? I'm hoping it isn't anything but I am going to keep an eye on her for a while. She is in shed however so I don't know if that could possibly have something to do with it, like maybe it was her skin cracking a little bit while she crawled around my hand.

When would I need to take her to the vet if it keeps going? I have heard this isn't something that goes away.

What stage of the shed cycle is she in?
Sometimes with my ball pythons, they don't shed the piece covering their nostrils and I can hear a slight wheezing sound until I run them through a towel and it comes off.
I'm no expert, but as for the RI those symptoms aren't too much to worry about by themselves, but if you have bubbles coming out of the mouth and the wheezing is more constant, you have a problem (I think).
Wait a few minutes for the experts to come around, they'll straighten this out.

She should shed very soon. The skin was peeling back a little on her nose. I suppose it could be some skin maybe covering the nostrils I'm not sure.

It could very easily be a bit of old skin in her nostrils or something equally harmless. Keep an eye on her, but she's probably fine.

Very good chance you have nothing to wory about. My male normal BP has a wheeze whenever he sheds that always goes away whenever he sheds out fully. Just keep an eye on it, keep your temps up and enjoy the new snake!

This is what I was hoping to hear! I'll keep an eye on her after she sheds and hopefully she won't be doing it anymore.

Is the yawning normal? I've seen her do it a few more times.

Yes, snakes will yawn more frequently right before a shed to help loosen the skin. Like the others have said, just keep the temps and humidity where they need to be and wait until the shed to se how she is...
