My Line of Faders

I was able to produce a clutch of super pastel faders, pastel faders and a spider that i think is a fader but no sure.I know of the three lines of faders the nerd line,amirs line and our line which is the graziani line coming from the graziani line pastels.The cool thing about the faders is that its a fairly new project and no one really knows the true potencial of this gene or genes.But i think its something big waiting to blow up in the next few years i will have some fader crosses next year and im really excited about poss outcome i have already seen some of the crosses and their pretty amazing.Here is a pic of the 3 super pastel faders i hatched out earlier this year.

I agree. I think it will make some interesting combos in the future. How did you first produce yours? I do not think it was the male pastel that had the gene in my line. I bred my pastel to over 20 females and only got two Fader Pastels from it. I am thinking my gene came from a female normal (Fader). My only issue was I never kept records when I first started breeding so I am pretty sure I sold off the female before knowing what she was.... Just a hunch.

Here is the secret... They look identical to granites. The thing about them is that they are genetic and they pass on. They have a spot on the back of the neck, dark eyes, blushing, and granite spots. I have another B grade Pastel Fader I will post when I finish cage cleaning,.

Thanks Joe! Now that is indeed interesting. In 2009 bred a pastel male to a "granite" female I have, and of the two pastels I got from that pairing, one was a lot lighter and better looking overall than the other. I chalked it off as just random luck on a nice pastel, but looks like I might have to try to do some more breeding to see if there's anything going on there. Thing about my granite girl is she's got a pretty reduced pattern and not too much in the way of flames as a result of it. Here's an old picture comparing the pastel siblings from that clutch just in case you were curious.



Even if what I've got isn't fader, I still definitely want to get some in the future. I remember drooling over some of Greg's super pastels back in the day before anyone knew any better about the fader mutation, and I can't wait to see what else gets made with them.

When i first started working with the ball pythons i purchased all my pastel females from greg. So last season i also picked up gregs bumble bee breeder male and i bred him to one of the pastels i had bought like 3 years ago.When i
cut the eggs i was what the hell is this i had thought they were all killer bees in the eggs but when they came out i knew they were supers but they didnt look like any supers i had ever seen so i took them over to gregs place and he told me what they were but he didnt know to much about them so basically i just bred bumble bee to the pastel dam of the clutch and got 3 super faders no killer bees though.so this year im going to do the same pairing and try to hit on a killer bee fader.

hey how can you tell if something has fader in it? Is their specific markings to look for or what does it change. I can tell a differnece. a little but I guess its just hard to in a pic. They are beautiful thow I can tell that!

Well, if yours doesn't fit some pre-named definition of "fader"...then just make up your own name for yours! I don't know anything about fader's personally and would love to learn more...such as who said yours weren't, and why? (Actually the "who" is more out of curiosity, but knowing who it is might lend weight to the "Why".)

It certainly looks like you've got something unique going on there, no matter what it's called!

no i didnt get any normals out of that clutch like i said ill be doing the same breeding this year and maybe a normal will pop out i hope not though lol.
what pastel line are u working with?

My original male came out of Africa so I am not sure what line it would be.
