Re: Super reduced mojave???
Need better pictures to see the reduced pattern, the snake is so little and so far away in the pictures. Close ups would help for comments on the pattern.
1.3 lovely normals 1.1 Piebald 0.1 red tail boa (Pandora) 1.0 sinaloan milk snake and one nasty corn snake! 2.3.1 Cresties 0.0.1 chahoua 0.0.1 leachianus
1.1 Ferrets (Snoball & Panda)

Re: Super reduced mojave???
Funny how there is no agreement on which is the pattern; the lighter or darker elements. I would call that wide pattern and the opposite of reduced.
At any rate, my chocolate mojave is similar.

Without knowing anything about the non mojave parent I would first suspect egg stress also. But try the same pair next year and resolve whatever went wrong and see if you get the same results.

Wow, that is a Gorgeous, tiny little mojo! I would keep him around for a dinker project, definitely.
Was the mom or dad the mojo? Was it mojo x mojo pairing? If mojo x normal, was the normal super reduced, too?
It certainly would be awesome if you could purposely produce reduced pattern mojos like that. I think most everyone wants to see closer pics, because we all think it's a little beauty of a snake!
Joe23, meine guete! Seiner Akzent ish doch Toll! Woher kommt so einer Akzent? Naja....
Now I gotta spend a few hours watching german snake videos on Youtube....

sounds funny for the rest of us germans but we have worse akzents (is that how u call it too in the us?) here in some regions of germany.
his akzent is called schwäbisch (with umlaut ä or if u cant see it there- its ae). u speak it in the region around stuttgard (where the porsches come from). hes a nice guy though.
ur german is still really good clark!!! im surprised everytime u write something in german.

hope it makes it for ya! assist feeding really isn't as nerve racking as it sounds. in regards to your question about how often to try, i wouldn't try EVERY day, as that may lead the snake to think that food smell=big scary hand trying to shove something down my throat! you don't want the snake to associate food with stress, and assist-feeding is stressful for the snake (and probably you, as well!)
i would try every 3-4 days perhaps, but don't quote me on that. since the snake is so small it's essential that you get it some food as soon as you can, especially since there was yolk left over, and yolk is pretty much their "first meal." it's what keeps them going from hatch until their first shed.
good luck!

Re: Super reduced mojave???
Very nice animal.
Did you get it from mojave x mojave ?
Look like a granitemojave to me.
I bred such a snake this year.

Re: Super reduced mojave???
Finally got it to eat it's first meal. I hope this is the start of something GOOD! Definitly breeding the male Mojave to the same female and a new female this season to see what we get. I'll try to get some better pics as it grows.

Re: Super reduced mojave???
Glad to hear you got that little one feeding. Deffinately can see a reduced pattern.
And who knows...Maybe 5 years from now people will be talking about that guy on bp.net who started the dwarf ball python craze (which is only identifiable by a reduced pattern in Mojave form)
But seriously, that is one tiny baby. Cant wait to see future pics with that pattern. Good Luck!
