    male vs female

Are females more aggressive then males ??? I have a male pastel and he's a few months old and he's pretty shy and jumpy but he has never struck at us not even when he's around my loud and obnoxious kids. I just purchased a female last weekend shes about the same age maybe a little older and she seems aggressive, when I go to check her out she has struck her tank about ten times now . I held her twice but that was before she struck at me I'm a little scared to touch her now is this just the way females are ???

It doesnt have anything to do with being male or female, it really depends more on the individual personality of each animal. Everyone of mine have differing personalities.

Last weekend? Maybe a little early for her to have settled in. Some say a couple of weeks, and they shouldn't be handled in that time...

I personally don't really notice a difference based on sex. It's mostly just the individual, that's all.
