This is how a local breeder powerfeeds.

he says that he can get his snakes to breed in 6-8months

I think most of you guys are feeding until full. (almost any snake will eat until full.)

but then there is power feeding!

I do not think forcing food down the snakes' throat (which is how I define powerfeeding) is a good idea.

However, I feed my young snakes an appropriately sized item every 5 days. I find that the babies are acting hungry at this point, so I don't see a problem with feeding them. I also have some big females who could eat a large rat (assuming you feed an item as big around as the thickest part of the snake). I feed those females multiple small rats every 7 days instead of one large rat since I don't raise up large rats. I don't think that this is powerfeeding, although it sounds like some might disagree....

A good example of what power feeding is: Say you have a snake on 1 small rat per week and thats its normal meal (size proportionate), power feeding would be placing another in the mouth while its swallowing the first. Feeding young animals a size appropriate meal on a 5 day schedule is NOT powerfeeding. Im sure some that weigh every single food item they feed and it goes 1% over the supposed 10%-15% rule that some use, I'm sure to them thats powerfeeding

straight 5 day schedule for me.. if the snake doesn't eat then I wait 5 days and try again. They all get a big enough meal to make a lump. And I only do the 5 days for the younens and before breading season. Other then that it's 7 days for my adults.

If I took you to burger king and asked you what you wanted to eat, then order 3x that and shoved the other 2 down your mouth every few days how would you look and feel??
