Re: Pastel mojave/pastel lesser X Lesser?

Last time I checked by asking questions you learn no? The whole point of this forum is for people to further their knowledge, and to be around people with the same interest. If its not "advanced" enough for you don't participate. I DO think that there should be an advanced section for bp veterans that doesn't allow first time users in. Maybe a section that requires a password or something? Therefore they can have their "advanced" debate with only "advanced" members. I do agree that there are a lot of posts of these topics, but for it to make you p*** off is being greedy with the knowledge this site has to offer. This stuff takes a while to learn, and you can't say you weren't there once.
The only thing that I have against adding a new section is that all the vets are gonna go bye bye lol. All of your help is so clutch when dicey situations arise with our animals. Some of you take a lot of pride in your detailed explanations, and I appreciate the CRAP out of that for the record. So if they do add an advanced spot, don't forget about all us noobs!!!

Re: Pastel mojave/pastel lesser X Lesser?
How to do percentages (my way, when I dont just do it instantly from prior percentages I remember).
Pastel Lesser x Lesser
From the Pastel Lesser 50% get 1 Pastel gene
From the Lesser 0% get 1 Pastel gene
Typical Het x hom square
50% Pastel
50% Normal
From the Pastel Lesser 50% get 1 Lesser gene
From the Lesser 50% get 1 Lesser Gene
Typical Het x Het Square
25% BEL
50% Lesser
25% Normal
Combine (since it's only 2 Gene interactions these are your final results)
.5x.25=.125
.5x.5=.25
12.5% Pastel BEL
12.5% BEL
25% Lesser Pastel
25% Lesser
12.5% Pastel
12.5% Normal
Pastel Mojave x Lesser
From the Pastel Mojave 50% get 1 Pastel gene
From the Lesser 0% get 1 Pastel gene
Typical Het x hom square
50% Pastel
50% Normal
From the Pastel Mojave 50% get 1 Mojave gene
From the Lesser 0% get 1 Mojave gene
50% Mojave
50% Normal
From the Pastel Mojave 0% get 1 Lesser gene
From the Lesser 50% get 1 Lesser gene
50% Lesser
50% Normal
Combine the first 2:
.5x.5=.25
25% Pastel Mojave
25% Pastel
25% Mojave
25% Normal
Combine the third for Final Results:
.25x.5=.125
12.5% Pastel Mojave Lesser (Pastel BEL)
12.5% Pastel Lesser
12.5% Mojave Lesser (BEL)
12.5% Lesser
12.5% Pastel Mojave
12.5% Pastel
12.5% Mojave
12.5% Normal
http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...n-X-Fire/page2
And here are a few I recently did via PM for someone (notably the final percents dont add to 100 because I didnt feel like writing that much out):
Pewter Het Pied x Cinny Het Pied
50% will be Pastel
50% Normal
25% Super Cinny
50% Cinny
25% Normal
25% Pied
75% 66% Possible Het Pied
Combine Cinny and Pastels:
12.5% Silver Bullet
12.5% Super Cinny (so that means you will likely have lower chance of Pandas from this pairing, so if you really want a Panda, go Cinny Het x Cinny Het if possible, but if not go with this as Pewter Het x Pewter Het will reduce the Panda Chance further)
25% Pewter
25% Cinny
12.5% Pastel
12.5% Normal
Combine the former with the 25% Pieds (it's 75% of all of the former things for 66% Possible Hets, but that adds too much clutter and would be a hassle to sit and write)
3.125% Silver Bullet Pied
3.125% Panda Pied
6.25% Pewter Pied
6.25% Cinny Pied
3.125% Pastel Pied
3.125% Pied
Thats the pied results, everything else will be the prior list, minus those values as 66% Possible Hets
Pewter Het Pied x Pewter Het Pied
25% Super Pastel
50% Pastel
25% Normal
25% Super Cinny
50% Cinny
25% Normal
25% Pied
75% 66% Possible Het Pied (again, I'll omit this in the end, simply subtract the final Pied results from the Pastel Cinny combinations and you will have these percents, I just dont want to double up and add the clutter)
Combine the Pastel and the Cinny genetics
6.25% Super Pewter (Super Pastel Super Cinny)
12.5% Silver Bullets
6.25% Super Cinny
12.5% Super Pastel Cinny (Pastel Pewter)
25% Pewter
12.5% Cinny
6.25% Super Pastel
12.5% Pastel
6.25% Normal
Pied combined with the former results (the Pied End Results, ignoring the Poss Hets)
1.5625% Super Pewter (Super Pastel Super Cinny) Pied
3.125% Silver Bullet Pied
1.5625% Panda Pied
3.125% Super Pastel Cinny (Pastel Pewter) Pied
6.25% Pewter Pied
3.125% Cinny Pied
1.5625% Super Pastel Pied
3.125% Pastel Pied
1.5625% Pied
And this is from this topic, not related to the percentages, but it should be stated again, over and over:

i dont think there should be a locked section for veterans or how u call it. why should the guys that want to learn something "left in front of the door" while "cracks" debating? that wasnt my intention.
also ive nothing against starters and starter questions. but i miss more advanced stuff here- thats it. 9 from 10 threads are from beginners that asked questions- dont get me wrong- its not their fault. they wanna learn.
its just basically the fact (at least for me) that this forum lacks some "advanced" (sorry i dont know how to better describe that) debates or theories etc.
and its the pure mass of threads where someone post a normal and ask if its a morph and the pure mass of threads where someone ask what do i get...
u guys wanna learn- I WANT TO LEARN MORE TOO!!!
but in the last time im just missing some good debates here. and im not alone with that feelin (even no other yet participated). this forum has a new nickname- its not bp. net anymore- its "is my ball a yellow belly" forum.
just think about it.
and if they read the whole threads of what would i get, they could easily answer their own question. in almost every thread someone metion the wizard or other genetic calculators- even with a link.

Re: Pastel mojave/pastel lesser X Lesser?
But like Dr.Del said sometimes it is inaccurate.
I think there should be a locked section, but everyone is allowed to view. You should have to have special privileges to post. I understand how you can get irritated by not being able to located the advanced posts your looking for, but how can you fix that w.o some kind of "special" section for that type of debate? Your not going to be able to stop these kinds of questions w.o isolating a section for advanced keepers, by advanced keepers. Personally I would just love to read all of your debates. I wouldn't want to chime in at all, and thats actually a pet peeve of mine. So many people on here leave pointless comments, and I think by adding this section it would leave all the "fluff" out of the debate.

click the flag and then go to select species

and who should be allowed to use it? i mean- from what do u know he has knowledge?
a big amount of post doesnt say u have knowledge. u can answer to every picture thread and say- oh thats a nice snake. and in two weeks u have 500 post...
an advanced genetics section wouldnt be bad, but i still dont think it should be locked.

Yeah, good point. Maybe just have a special moderator with special rules? I really do think this would be an awesome addition to the site. Now that you mention it, it is kind of hard to advance your skills when there is such an abundance of lets call them "other" posts. I can see this being very beneficial for both beginner and advanced keepers.
