I STRONGLY recommend getting this over the reptitemp 500R

Extremely accurate, Off/on style, Long probe cord, DIGITAL (thats important, digital is 100% better than dial)

I have used it for a few months now and its doing perfectly, I love it and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anybody who cannot afford the 100 - 300$ proportional ones

Oh well, its a good thermostat its jsut my personal beleif that the digital trumps the dial one by a long shot. Im not sure how they differ in function though

True, however its is better to have the hydrofarm because with that one you have to push a button for 3 - 4 seconds and then push the up or down arrow to raise or lower the temp

With the dial, all it takes is one nudge or one item hitting it to jump the dial higher or lower.

Because of that, I dont think id ever buy the 500R.
