    Oh well, its a good thermostat its jsut my personal beleif that the digital trumps the dial one by a long shot. Im not sure how they differ in function though

    True, however its is better to have the hydrofarm because with that one you have to push a button for 3 - 4 seconds and then push the up or down arrow to raise or lower the temp

    With the dial, all it takes is one nudge or one item hitting it to jump the dial higher or lower.

    Because of that, I dont think id ever buy the 500R.
