    Re: Display cage advise

This is a display animal for work that will be in the lobby of our vet clinic. We are going to start it off in a 10g tank at first until it gets bigger. Then he wants to get a display cage, he has me looking all over even though this is a year down the road. This is an albino male so I think we will go with the 36x24x24 cage that should be big enough I think.

So this cage holds in the humidity well?

Mine holds the humidity very well !! However, I do not keep my humidity in the really high range. I use the coco bedding and mist it when I want to raise the humidity. I leave it around 45 or 50 and only raise it during shed. Works for me, never had a bad shed that way...

Glass tanks are horrible to keep humidity in, though, and if you plan on using one for a young hatchling you will be doing nonstop misting. If you use a glass tank, try to cover the sides, back and top, you can still see inside of it from the front, but the snake will feel so much better not being so "exposed".

3 ft. cage is definitely big enough to make a nice display setup for a male BP.

In my opinion those can't be beat, if you want it all !

They are attractive and best of all, they are ingenious. The design is extremely well thought out. You can stack them right on top of each other and STILL keep light (strip and dome) in between if you choose to do so. Plus a UTH under each cage. There are cutouts for everything.

They hold humidity and heat well. Easy to clean, if you wanted you could take the glass doors out (takes 10 secs) and take the cage outside to hose it out.

    Prices aren't that bad, etiher.

    I have the 48x24. LOVE IT !!!

If you put it on the stand and then drape a tablecloth around the top and add a nice fake vine plant on top of it, it will look like furniture.
I have 2 of the 36X24... Love them both. Have them both in a wall that is in the livingroom, but goes through to my snake room so I have access to the back of the cages.

Umm... this is Not true. I have used glass tanks for years, and with the foil top treatment for the screen lid the humidity stays where it should. In fact, I get more stability from tanks then I do from any other cage type.

As for display cages, I make my own. It's much cheaper and you can customize however you like.
