Re: Pastel Gargoyles (pewter het. red)

I have a question? Is using the term Gargoyle the correct one since a true Gargoyle is from Amir's line which is a black pastel x a green pastel.

I know Ralph Davis has this combo but does he call it Gargoyle or something else? To me, the true Gargoyle is the black - green pastel cross. The het red is somethig different.

Re: Pastel Gargoyles (pewter het. red)

names do not really mean anything to me. It seems to be the accepted name in the classifieds and if you can prove that a green pastel is different than a het. red, show me. i remember them being labeled as gargoyles a few years back by ralph. I could be wrong in that he was showing off one of amir's crosses, but he now refers to them as cinni het reds. the first one produced using the pastel gene was not by me and it came with the gargoyle name.
not trying to pee in amir's cereal. frankly, they were not even one of my better projects this year. they just came out a lot better than expected.

This is a green pastel to a balck pastel making it a gargoyle. The cin version is much lighter with no stripe down the back but is also a cross with the green pastel. This is the true gargoyle in my opinion.

I was simply asking in the above in a nice way. I was not trying to rein in on that your snakes are not beautiful but in my opinion, they are not gargoyles. The green pastel and the het red are different. It would be like saying the caramel and the ultramel are the same. They are not. Butters and lesser are the same? No...they are not.

there are 6 of them on kingsnake all with near full body stripes. i am not going to get a crummy attitude about something as trivial as another imported het red being called a different name.
    thanks for your opinion.

Your welcome for my opinion. By the way, here is a example of a green pastel.

by the way Green Pastels, Lace BB's and Het Reds are the same mutation. There actually a couple more out there with different names but they are slipping my memory at this moment.
