LOL, never thought of it that way, but after cleaning my little bee's cage just now (phew) I can see your point clearly

"I don't take any of my snakes for car rides "just because". The only time they are in the car, is for a particular purpose - going to a snake show to be displayed or to the veterinarian, and that's it.

Never, EVER would they be allowed to be loose in the car, not safely secured in a snake bag.

Other than that - no - the snakes don't enjoy it, and I'd rather them be safe and secure in their enclosures, rather than taking them for meaningless (for them) car rides. "
Wow Robin, am I glad that at least ONE member piped in here that doens't have his head where the sun doesn't shine.
At first I thought this was a funny thread, maybe a joke, but the more I read, I stopped laughing and just felt sad that there are so many irresponsible, witless snake keepers on this forum.

It was supposed to be a funny thread. I took my snake for a 5 min (if that) ride to my mothers house because she wanted to see the snake, and i had to go over there anyway. It wasn't just for the sake of going for a car ride and it was a short trip. the snake crawled into my daughters car seat i found it kinda funny. Its the first time i have brought her for a ride and i kinda regret posting it now after a good bashing.

I don't think anyone is trying to bash you, there is just some concern over that.

You are very, very lucky she didn't decide to crawl under your seat, into the dash, or somewhere otherwise inaccessible. I, too, have heard some horror stories first hand about snakes getting loose in cars to never be found again (but smelled again, for sure, if you catch my drift.)

Just my two cents. Live and learn, I'm just glad you didn't have to learn the hard way.

I certainly didn't mean to bash you or anyone. We all started somewhere and learn as we go.

Re: Does anyone take their BP for car rides?

The comments are just seeming to get harsher as we go. I understand everyone's concern and i said a few times that i agree next time a snake bag is a good idea.
